📚 Background and Experience

With an MSc in Robotics from the University of the West of England Bristol, UK and a B.Tech in Mechatronics Engineering from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, India complemented by a semester of collaborative research at Tokai University in Japan, I bring a rigorous interdisciplinary skill set, hands-on innovation experience, and a proven track record of thriving in diverse international research settings.

Over the past 8 years, I have worked in different areas of robotics, including aerial robotics, marine robotics, bio-inspired robotics, and human-robot interaction. Recently, my focus has shifted towards safe motion planning and control for dexterity and locomotion of dynamical systems.

Experience

  1. Robotics Engineer

    The National Robotarium
    I lead the robotics manipulation team—covering everything from motion planning and control to hardware-software integration and developed a digital twin for the manipulation lab. I’ve operated and upgraded marine robots (AUVs/USVs) such as L3Harris IVER3 AUV and C-Enduro USV, reverse engineered critical systems, and integrated technologies like Starlink and marine generators. I also work closely with stakeholders to scope projects, write proposals to secure funding, and deliver results—completing over £1.5M in funded work and currently leading two ongoing projects.
  2. R&D Engineer - Robotics and Autonomous Systems

    VEDA Aeronautics Pvt. Ltd.
    Built and tested the first prototype of a multirotor interceptor drone for defense use. Developed real-time visual servoing, object detection, and tracking systems. Designed embedded system architecture and implemented GPS/vision-based motion planning for autonomous aerial robots.
  3. Mechatronics Engineer

    MTJB Engineering Ltd.
    Redesigned CAD models and system architecture for a modular and reconfigurable multirotor vehicle (Thunderbird). Built rapid prototypes of key subsystems, sourced components, and completed software-hardware integration for the proof of concept. Conducted formal verification and validation testing.
